Companies involved in the sea transport of dangerous goods are legally required to follow a specialized IMDG training (IMDG Code Chapter 1.3.1.2.1). This training is essential for anyone involved in the preparation, handling, or documentation of sea freight. You will gain a solid foundation in the international regulations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to operate safely and in compliance with the law throughout the maritime chain.
Who is this course intended for?
This IMDG training is intended for anyone involved in the transport of dangerous goods by sea, including:
- Administrative staff, freight forwarders, and logistics personnel who process declarations or IMDG documentation
- Personnel responsible for dangerous goods declarations
- Employees at shipping agencies, shipping companies, and shippers
- Warehouse staff and packers preparing sea freight
Prerequisite knowledge
No specific prior knowledge of dangerous goods is required. The course is delivered in Dutch and complies with Chapter 1.3.1.2.1 of the IMDG Code (“General Awareness / Familiarization training”). English texts are also used during the training, as in the official IMDG Code.

Certificate
This training concludes with an examination for which you must obtain at least 60% to pass. The resulting certificate is valid for a period of 5 years.
You can renew this certificate by completing a refresher course before the current certificate expires.
